If the title is italicized the story - features kids or color or has a diverse cast. If such a title is not italicized either I forgot to do it or I didn't know. So please feel free to tell me in the comment box.
All authors and illustrators of color will have an asterisk next to their name.

Wow, you are SO organized! I am keeping this list, how very helpful it will be to me, thank you. I'll look forward to your reactions to those I have already read (primarily paperbacks of course)....thanks again!
Doret, this isn't fair! Do you realize how many more books are on my TBR list now that I've read this post?
Interesting trend, btw - apparently this is the year for picture books about Sarah Edmonds. Lerner has one coming out too, by Carrie Jones (as in the one who usually writes YA).
goodness, that's a lot! I don't have time to look closely right now, but Shadow Walker has gone right smack on my list!
The Latte Rebellion is about a poc and by a poc. But I'm guessing you already knew that :)
Luckily for me, most of these are already on my to-read list. I covered my eyes before looking at new titles because my Goodreads list and shelves just can't take any more books!
*retreats back to finals cave*
Carol- This is the most organized I will be all year and shall treat myself by not posting again until Wednesday.
Sarah or should I say Digital Concierge - thanks for letting me know about Carrie Jones PB, I'll be sure to get it from Netgalley
Charlotte - I am looking forward to reading Banks YA debut as well, especially after checking out of the excerpt
Ari - Thanks, I missed marking Latte Rebellion
oh my - did you really read all that? fantastic!
And thanks for putting Tall Story on your eye catching list!
PINK and I AM J both have diverse casts!
2011 isn't even two weeks old and I'm already super excited for all of the books I've seen on lists like this. I thought 2010 was going to be huge, since a few of my favorite series were concluding, but I'm definitely more excited about the new stuff for 2011! (It also seems like so far this is a good year for books about a person of color to actually feature a POC on their cover)
Candy - Much congrats on your upcoming U.S. release (finally) looking forward to finally geting to read Tall Story
Karen - Thank you. Having to go back to italicized makes me very happy
Angela - There are a lot of great books coming out this year
I'm looking forward to the Roots and Blues book. I'll have to check and see if Charlotte-Mecklenburg Library will get it. Thanks for commenting on my blog.
Hello Doret. The farm maiden, her illustrator Rafael Lopez, and I thank you for including "The Cazuela That The Farm Maiden Stirred." I was really delighted to see it in your list. All best and happy new year, Samantha Vamos
What a great list! I can't believe you've got nearly the whole year mapped out. I think I've worked out what interests me, up until... March or so.
I'm excited for The Latte Rebellion.
Thanks Doret! Now I just added a bazillion more books to my son's wishlist. :-O
