What Would Emma Do? Eileen Cook

What Would Emma Do? by Eileen Cook This book was so much fun. I laughed so hard I snorted. 17yr old Emma lives in the small town of Wheaton. All she wants to do is get a track scholarship to Northwestern and leave small town living behind. Emma's senior year starts off on the wrong foot when she's caught kissing Colin, her best friends boyfriend. Emma decides its time to talk to God, at the beginning of each chapter she does just that. Emma's conversations with God are sincere and funny. At her high school, or should I say the H.S. Trinity Evangelical Secondary (TES), popular girls begin to mysteriously blackout. The town believes its the act of terrorist. Emma is one of the few people who knows the truth. To speak up would mean risking her track scholarship and her one chance to leave Wheaton. I loved Emma, she's smart and imperfect. She also makes great list. This book is very hard to put down. Between all the laughs there are questions about faith, truth and conformity. I hope this isn't the last we see of Emma. I highly recommend this for fans of Robin Brande's Evolution, Me & Other Freaks of Nature and E Lockhart's The Boyfriend List
What Would Emma Do? is value priced at $7.99

Emma expresses doubts about the towns witness

"Mrs. Homer is like, a hundred and ten years old. She can't recognize her own family members if they're standing right in front of her, screaming their names. She makes Helen Keller look like eagle eye. This is the person we trust to spot Osama?"

"My mom used to have a sense of humor. I wonder if she noticed when it went missing. I rather like the idea of making a missing poster. It would show my mom laughing with a giant MISSING typed underneath with an offer of a reward"

Read the first chapter one great list included
